Maybe like thousands of others -my blog has been in long- sleep-status for some years. The reason was my MSc studies I have finished in this year.

Luckily the insipration is always awake :).

Some day ago I did some yarn inventory and found some "old" favorites in the new "light" .

Watercolour

Last days were like water painting - wind, rain, mud- enfolded all to cold humidity. But we spend two days with Anu and her magnificent art class experimenting with water colours. This master class was last in this year. I will miss them really and I can't wait when we continue our discoveries in modern art in March

The picture here is tiny postcard what each of us made and we'll get them by post, who's card I'll receive it is a secret now.

Being a lazy

As everybody can see I haven't written anything for some weeks- it is typical to me- I 'm not just very plucky person with such things like writing the diary or sending postcards or keeping birthdays in memory . I'm sorry, but its my nature. What I have done during these weeks- suffered again with some flues, finishing the Mirjam's kitty mittens, playing with ideas and materials to make some lacy jewelry, making some ceramic gifts again :), sewing the christmas sock to Mirjam and yesterday I made the birthday gift - a tiny brooch to my mother-in law. So it's not very much.

It is so late now, so I'll put the pictures tomorrow, I hope ;).

和菓子 - Wagashi

Today I received finally the book I waited for a long-long time- Kumiko Sudo's Wagashi. It's about how to make small hand-crafted sweet gifts to bring a joy to your family or closest. And the book is not only about how to make these cute things, mrs Sudo's descriptions about her childhood memories are also very adorable. As I have got also her Omiyage book I can tell that I like the Omiyage book more- I found there more different cool projects to make and I have made quite many already. But both books are worth to have them when you are motivated to make hand-crafted things. They are delicious like wagashies.

Artful week

This week kept me really busy- Japanese lessons, last ceramic class and also two-day Master class, plus some personal dodoes with family, as we say- runnin' like squirrel in the wheel (perhaps there is another expression in english for that).

Huu, the week is over but I haven't got a still time to practice my hiragana home task, I must to solve this problem tomorrow.

What happened in ceramic class- we got our painted mugs and plates :)) and made some things in strip and monotype technics.

We played also some funny board game and the winner got a big platter we made as the group work in first lesson. What you think, who was a lucky winner?? ;o). Finally we got our diplomas also :).

And the Master class- mmm that was delicious.... colorful watercolor and oil pastels, some ink splashes...

...... visiting exhibition for quick history lesson of estonian art. ......... and taste of yummy chocolate cheesecake in KUMUS restaurant.

First snow

Yesterday appeared first snow here! It's been always exciting feeling mixed with smell of winter and Christmas.

We had a finally free evening with Bright ( many thanks to Lilith!) and we walked around in the Old Town... and crabbed some biscuits from coffee and the sweet christmas-taste almonds from Olde Hansa -girls.

Our purpose was to go to Asuurkeraamika's studio where Aigi invited us to celebrate the last open day in Old Town location. They are moving to Ars- building in Pärnu str. I feel sorry about that movement, because location in Pikk str was very good for business.

Actually we had a fun in this "good bye" party and we snapped many cool give away pottery stuff there.

The best we had were: little home-altar, tiny creamcup and beautiful snow-white rose-patterned pad for holding something... :) Later in this evening I gifted it to my friend Pia for new-home present.

Last few days I've been managing my photos in flickr and in my mac also and I have to admit, its been quite time-consuming and boring. But I'm happy to have now some basic order with my photos I want to share with friends and etc.

I also have to confess that I wasn't in Japanese class in this week of course of nasty cough :(. The good news are from ceramic class - we painted our coffee mugs and made a bowls in scrafito technic. We made some more cool stuff but I show these when we get our burned pottery :).

What else

First- I have kind of very nasty sore throat illness (again!), so I just swallowed my last Isla-mint pill but I do not get much help. Almost one week I've been eating different kind of throat- pills like candy, but I can't still beat the cough- I' m really frustrated about this.

Despite of all that we played during the weekend with Mirjam with different textil stuff and we made 2 otedama dolls :) :). We need to prepare some more for playing otedama games.

I also did'nt tell that I'm

taking Japanese lessons at Tallinna Rahvaülikool and have spent some days with Hiragana learning. Why Japanese? Here are some reasons- I always have admired the Oriental way of thinking and art. The second-I have bought some craft books in japanese and I want to be able to read them. And the third- I just don't like the feeling to not knew anything in Japanese. Thanks to Sven to sending some good links to me and I am also happy about our japanese language teacher- sensei Alari Allik. I like the way he is teaching. :)

And what is happend with my doll-project I mentioned in Grrr! post? I can tell you- nothing sience- I'm not in mood now and I have to finish mittens for Mirjam before. Ok. I'll see that my post is going to too long ( I like when blog posts are short and illustrated with good photos ;o).

A week is gone again

I didn't even noticed where the time is flowing. Last time I promised to show photos from my clay pots before & after now here they are :). Actually I took a picture from male blackbird also, I liked it more-it is black, but unfortunatley the photo wasn't very good :(. Wednesday we created some coffe mugs and plates. I can't wait when I also see Aigi's photos from our different groupworks.

Master Class

Friday and today was the KUMU's day again. I'm taking part of Anu Purre's Master Class (oct 2007-may 2008), witch means learning (or reminding) different drawing techniques and solving personal and group tasks. Basically the courses are ment to be for school art teachers but it's open to others too :) (as I). We have 6 people (Marika, Marju, Katrin, Elena, Natalia & me) in group and most of ladies are teachers.

Yesterday each of us drew 16 little pattern cards ( I don't stop here to discribe punctually the content of the task) and today we cut them and mixed with other people's cards and we tried to put together an exhibition. When I'll get the photos I upload them otherwise all this is not very interesting to read.

Second task was to make a copy of paintings of Konrad Mäe using charcoal. I think I still need to complete my "painting" because I'm not very pleased with I made.
We also visited quickly the exhibitions of Priit Pärn and Eduard Wiiralt.
Our fun will continue in the next month 9th of Nov.

Clay play

Yesterday was again my favourite day- I had some fresh breathing in ceramic class. As I told before, last time we had a home task to collect some photos, drawings etc from favorite pet. I made some sketches from birds who are living in our garden: greenfinch, blue tit, blackbird, nuthach and also squirrel :). For my clay-pot I choosed to paint blackbirds- I like them most, they are so funny birds with beautiful song. Next week we'll get the burned pots and then I can show before and after pictures.
Second task was to make three clay-stamps and create group tile using stamps we made and with stuff what we found from our handbags.
I can't wait when I see my masterpieces :P

Grrrr!

I'm not happy at all. Some day ago I started to create a new doll and I cut and sew some bodyparts already and today I found out that I have lost somewhere one pattern piece of hand and one leg :(. No wonder! we have such a mess around. And I feel quite envious about you guys who have such a beautiful studios to keep your stuff.

Crafting & playing day

Today we started with my little girl (she is a 1,2 years old) crafting class... After breakfest we took bunch of old newspapers, painting tape, pencils and we started to rumple, rend, paste and colour them. It was really funny. We also had a little argument :) -I drew one dollface on the paper and cut it out and wanted to paste it as the dollface on the paper figure. But Mirjam was really upset on this idea and she demanded me not to paste this face. Finally we drew to the Kuju, as she called this creature - (translated something like A Figure) it's own eyes and mouth. The result is shown here :)

Creativity Booster

To avoid long lasting darkness period in this year, I composed a kind of education program to myself. So today was a first step-KUMU's ceramic course instructed by Aigi Orav. That was really refreshing after 1,5 week housebound with some stupid disase which attaced all my family.

Yesterday we just played with some clay hunks & we got to prepare a hometask for painting a tiny african style clay-pot. I have to draw some scetches about my favorite pet- as I don't have any- I probably have to check for someone in the garden...
Yeah... I really got some refreshing ideas and I hope soon to upload some pictures also. :)
